Scott E. McConnell, Partner
has over 25 years of legal experience. Prior to helping establish
McConnell, Dunning & Barwick LLP in 1991, Mr. McConnell was
a shareholder with Stradling, Yocca, Carlson & Rauth. He
is a member of the Orange County Bar Association (Business and
Corporate Law Section), the State Bar of California and the American
Bar Association (Business Law, International Law, and Science
and Technology Law Sections). Admitted to the California Bar
in 1978, Mr. McConnell earned his Bachelor of Science degree
in business administration from the University of Southern California,
graduating magna cum laude in 1974, and received his Juris Doctor
from the UCLA School of Law in 1978, where he received an American
Jurisprudence Award in 1977. Mr. McConnell is a frequent and
respected lecturer on general business, corporate and securities
law issues.

Steven J. Dunning, Partner
was admitted to the California State Bar in 1981. He graduated
from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973
and in 1981 he received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Loyola
Law School, Los Angeles. Mr. Dunning was a professional Major
League Baseball player from 1970 to 1978. Following his admission
to the California Bar, he spent eight years in the business and
corporate law department of the Orange County, California office
of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, an international
law firm. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association
(Business and Corporate Law and Real Estate Law Sections) and
of the American Bar Association (Business Law and Real Property
and Probate Law Sections). Mr. Dunning is a past Chairman of the
Orange County Bar Association's Business and Corporate Law Section.

Curt C. Barwick, Partner admitted to the California Bar in 1983 and the District of Columbia
Bar in 1985, is past Chairman of the Orange County Bar Association's
Business and Corporate Law and Financial Practice Sections.
Prior to joining McConnell, Dunning & Barwick LLP in 1996,
Mr. Barwick was General Counsel of DVI Inc., a New York Stock
Exchange-listed company. Earlier, he served as a member of
the corporate/securities department with the Newport Beach
office of Buchalter, Nemer, Fields
& Younger and the Los Angeles office of Baker & McKenzie.
Mr. Barwick graduated with honors from the University of California,
Santa Barbara, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976, and from
the University of California, Los Angeles, with a Master of Arts
degree in 1977. He was awarded his Juris Doctor from the University
of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1983. Mr. Barwick
is a member of the Orange County Bar Association (Business and
Corporate Law and Financial Practice Sections) and the American
Bar Association (Business and International Law Sections and Blue
Sky Law subcommittee). He is a former
officer of the Corporations Commitee
of the Business Law Section of the California State Bar and frequent
lecturer on general business and securities issues. In 1992, Mr. Barwick
was awarded the State Bar President's Pro Bono Service Award by
the California Bar Association.

John E. Stoner, Partner was admitted to the California State Bar in 1986. Mr. Stoner earned his undergraduate degree in marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington and his law degree from Southern Methodist University, where he served as an editor on the law review and was a member of the Order of the Coif. He spent 13 years at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, focusing on corporate transactional and securities work, including mergers and acquisitions and secured and unsecured financing transactions. In addition to general corporate and securities work, Mr. Stoner has extensive experience representing companies in the mortgage banking business, including originators, secondary market participants, servicers and warehouse lenders. He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, the Association for Corporate Growth, the Financial Lawyers Conference and the Southern California Venture Network. Mr. Stoner is also a neutral for the American Arbitration Association.
